Welcome to cookingmelbourne.com – a food blog dedicated to the wonderful food ingredients and products available in Melbourne. I started going to the Queen Victoria market with my dad each week at the age of four and have been a devotee of this market and lover of food markets over the world ever since. A daughter of European migrants to Melbourne, my culinary background is fairly firmly rooted in that continent but having grown up in Melbourne, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines also play a large part in my culinary adventures. I love to cook – I find it a great way to relax and to connect with friends and family but I also love to read, write and talk about food. Cooking with the kids of Nth Melbourne Primary in their Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden Scheme, helping to publish a cookbook of their cooking endeavours, The North Melbourne Table, and more recently, co-owning a cafe/produce store has led me to start my own food blog. If you are interested in sourcing wonderful ingredients and cooking I’d love to share my discoveries with you. I’m not selling anything other than what is great about Melbourne’s artisan foods and produce, so sign up for my free post updates today and keep in touch.
Happy hunting and gathering.
